Antelope Valley Real Estate

Real estate in the Antelope Valley area of California has become a prime area of interest. Why? Well with migration into the state by thousands and undeveloped land being rapidly bought up, it is quickly becoming a question of where to find the land to build new residences on. Housing in the Antelope Valley is growing at a tremendous rate, and the homes are still affordable.

Antelope Valley is located in the northern part of Los Angeles County and the southwestern part of Kern County. It is predominately desert and covers around 2,200 square miles. Some of the more noted cities in Antelope Valley are Lancaster, Palmdale, and Ridgecrest, but there are many communities around the Valley most having their own postal zip codes.

With new master planned communities sprouting up all over Antelope Valley, real estate here is being touted as the next great growth market. The appreciation of homes in the valley is growing faster than any other area in the state. Communities like Ritter Ranch and Anaverde are selling fast and insure Antelope Valley as a leader in the real estate market. Their rapid growth is also bringing in builders like Harris Homes, Pulte, and KB Homes.

Buyers will find all types of housing available and, depending on the community you choose to live in, the average prices will vary. There are single family homes, condominiums, apartments, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities. In Palmdale the average home prices for example have risen from a median price of $86,188 in 1997 to $199,813 in 2003. Right now homes may be going from around $200,000 to the million dollar mark.
